art.quarter sits right in the middle of Digbeth, Birmingham's creative district, and it isn't trying to look like anywhere else. It's a landmark, halal-friendly space built around the city's own mix of cultures, not around someone else's idea of what a "hub" should be.
Jordan Patel, a Birmingham local, founded it to put something back into the local economy: new jobs, new opportunities, and a bit of fresh energy into the Digbeth scene.
Across two floors and 20,000 square feet, it brings together talent from all over the city under one roof: a food hall, a boutique barbershop, a ladies-only salon, an events space, multimedia facilities and retail, all built to cover a real day in someone's life, not just a night out.
Jordan's idea for the place is simple, even if it's ambitious: shared experiences bring people together, and everyone should be able to thrive here, whatever their background or beliefs.
Muslim, Indian and British values all coexist peacefully inside me. I want art.quarter to show they can coexist peacefully in society, too.
